Stu Ungar is considered by many to the very best NL Texas holdem Poker gambler ever.

The three time World Poker Champ was born in New York in ‘53 and began betting poker before becomming a teenager.

The young bettor began wagering gin and at the age of ten had won his very first gin tournament, while on holiday with his mother and father. By the time he turned 14 the little poker maestro had turned professional and stopped going to school.

In ‘54 Stu Ungar entered the history books by winning ten thousand dollars in a gin tournament without sacrificing a single hand, a record which still appears in New York these days.

The quick speaking superstar has been likened, in poker terms, to athletic greats like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Stu Ungar had a real ability for betting poker but despite his successes in Hold em poker, he preferred playing gin.

Stu once said that there might a few day be a far better NL Hold’em gambler than him except he couldn’t see how anyone could ever be a better gin player.

In ‘80 Stu was put on the global map as one of the greatest Hold em Poker players in the planet when he was crowned World Poker Champion for the first time. Astonishingly it was the 1st time he had entered the tournament.

The right after year he dismissed any thoughts that it had been luck, by effectively defending his crown. And in ‘97 Stu set the record by succeeding his third World poker championship.

But this poker master also fought with substance abuse and a year following succeeding his 3rd title Stu Ungar died in his hotel room. According to medical professionals, he had passed away from a cardiac event which was brought on by his lifestyle.

Stu had began with absolutely nothing but his ability and expertise for the casino game which made this poker excellent a millionaire many times over.
