Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

October 1st, 2019 at 21:25

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While wagering on online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I think television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might just be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen wagering on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha/8 and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
