Four of Poker’s Nice Guys

Literally millions and millions of individuals want to be the next "big-time thing" in poker, but here is a short list of 4 of the more well known "nice guys" of poker. Granted "nice" is associated with their names when you are playing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the game!

Daniel Negreanu

In Two Thousand and Four, his tournament payouts added up to in the region of 4.4 million dollars and he came away with two highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February Two Thousand and Six he was appointed Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the humility to talk with his fans about how they might boost their own game.

Howard Lederer

Known as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His achievements have lead to him making an instructional poker video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his total life earnings surpass $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and between Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in more than one hundred events. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker matches and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad beat. As of 2006, his life time winnings are almost $6 million.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has captured 5 World Series of Poker titles with two of his successes coming in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the alias "Jesus" because of his trademark long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw cards fast enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of Two Thousand and Five his total poker tourney earnings exceeded $5 million.
