Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes immediately to the dealer. After the wager is the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with a figure equal to the initial wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays out chips equal to your original bet and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
