No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he liked taking part in various card games when he was young. He found himself becoming really aggressive in these card games as he was competing against his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a bit and headed to New York to participate in some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s 1st 2 years were difficult as he would play extensive hours and lost most times. He earned some extra cash by becoming an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he might improve his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He brought about an effort to get more rest and concentrate more on poker.

The actual advancement in his game began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would regularly compete against one another. He had access into a few of the foremost minds in chess. With their assistance, he would sharpen his logical thinking abilities. Howard used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

Howard Lederer also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. Annie was an excellent student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the correct decision. He told Annie to head out to Vegas and compete in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the best female players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard relocated to Vegas in 1993 and played cash games for the following decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
